Current mood...board

I am just ignoring the fact that school starts so soon by any means possible, including cleaning (it's gotten that bad).  I am in a weird mood, this summer hasn't been extremely productive and I know I am supposed to be doing teenagery things etc. etc. but it just seems to be going by quickly (my entire teenage existence) and I don't know if other people feel the same way that I do or it's just me.  That is probably one of the main reasons I got back to this blog is to catalogue everything I feel day by day and month by month because my memory sucks to say the least.

Any way I made a shrine late last night while also completely drooling at Thom Browne's spring womens collection for 2014 and thinking about flowers and the upcoming Autumn.  In New England the Fall is all about endings (summer) and beginnings (school) (even more so about beginnings and endings than spring, spring is just wet and filled with slush from the winter) so I think it is appropriate to wear floral prints and darker colors together.

stress, green lips, flea markets, and the impending doom of school

So this is know my blog...Kyra has decided to make her own so that she can post when ever she wants/ have more say when things are posted. (that is probably why it took a year to post stuff).  Anyway the dress that I was originally going to wear got foundation on it while I was doing my makeup and this was a last minute outfit choice but you know what, it works.

So back to more fashion-y type things this is what I am thinking of wearing the first day of school, we have a weird policy that you can't wear sleeveless tops unless three fingers can fit on the strap/ no head scarves or anything you can put on your head/ and no leggings...but mostly everyone ignores this and I try to bend the rules as much as I can.

It was unfortunately a bit a bit sunny today but the pictures came out fine, I just kind of stressed for school and such but the green lipstick helps and so does this top that I got for two dollars from a town wide flea market.

Now you see me know you don't

Oh.....awkward this is just....wow okay so it has almost been a year exactly since we last posted and a lot has changed style wise (sort of we just got better haircuts and I got a good camera and some better cloths).  You probably want to know how we look know....so here I will indulge you
(me we had a pretty amazing alienish photo shoot and I look like and alien ice queen, I love it)

(Kyra looks amazing during a shoot we did at a local park with some other of our very fashionable friends)

More alien babes aka Tilda Swinton  in the May 2013 issue of W magazine (all hail the Queen)
ST. Vincent my latest music obsession and very fashionable person (just thought I would share)

Last but not least a TRUE alien babe Zoe Saldana.  Not only was she in Avatar but she was also in Star Trek and Guardians of the Galaxy where she looks like Elphaba's wicked awesome older sister.

Welcome to Fish&Flowers!!!!!!!!!

We know that the title is pretty standard and boring, but we thinks that's okay, considering this is our first post and we need to properly introduce ourselves and our blog. Please forgive us because this post may be super long and boring, but hey we just want you to get to know us a tad bit. We promise not to drag on and on like in the post in every post because we're not narcissists and we get that you're just here for the fashion.

Hi, I'm Kyra, the one in the orange shirt, pink jelly heels, and flower crown. My fashion sense is kind of like a weird combination of everything: grunge, indie, retro, and sometimes even a little folk-y style. I like to wear lots of bright colors, especially in the summer, but in the winter I want to shrivel up because it's so freaking cold outside, so I tend to wear a lot more navy, black, and brown then. I love Vampire Weekend, Phoenix, Regina Spektor, Jaymay, The Strokes, San Cisco, and Joni Mitchell. Weird mix, I know. Hopefully reading that wasn't too painfully boring.

Hey, I'm Emily. I'm the other one in the green bubble skirt that I just bought and I'm really obsessed with. My fashion sense is more sort of classic, I guess, and a little nautical and folk-y at times. I also love Steampunk and make my own jewelry. I like more basic colors that can be used all year round, but I enjoy thrifting and shopping at vintage clothing stores with Kyra, so you never know what you're going to find. My favorite artists are Muse, Vampire Weekend, Fleet Foxes, The Smiths, and lots of old '80s music that Kyra hates.
